Michele Lord graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2008 with a double bachelor degree in Arts and Law.

Michele was admitted as a lawyer in February 2010 and has worked at a variety of Legal Aid offices throughout Western Australia for the past 10 years, with a focus on criminal law advice and litigation, including as defence counsel in criminal trials.

Michele was the Principal Solicitor of Law Access in 2019 and made connections with a number of barristers, including senior counsel. Michele then worked for the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety for two years successfully managing a number of significant work health and safety prosecutions.

Michele is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcome for clients, while working efficiently and keeping clients well informed.

Michele’s experience includes the following types of cases:

• Drug related offences;
• Serious assault charges;
• “White collar” offences such as fraud and stealing as a servant;
• Other property offences such as stealing, robbery, burglary and money laundering;
• Work health and safety offences, including industrial manslaughter;
• Criminal damage offences;
• Sexual offences against both adults and children;
• Firearms and weapon related offences;
• Sentencing hearings;
• Applications for spent convictions;
• Traffic charges including dangerous driving causing death, drink driving and driving without a license;
• Other traffic matters including applications for extraordinary driver’s licenses and applications to overturn lifetime driving disqualifications;
• Bail applications; and
• Violence restraining order applications and/or breaches.

Michele has represented clients in the Children’s Court, Magistrates Court, District Court, and Supreme Court.
